SoftBank Group to acquire Ampere Computing from Carlyle and Oracle for $6.5bn.

Synopsis

SoftBank Group, a multinational investment holding company, agreed to acquire Ampere Computing, an independent silicon design company, from Carlyle, a private equity firm, and Oracle, a computer software company, for $6.5bn. “The future of Artificial Super Intelligence requires breakthrough computing power. Ampere’s expertise in semiconductors and high-performance computing will help accelerate this vision, and deepens our commitment to AI innovation in the United States," Masayoshi Son, SoftBank Group Chairman and CEO.
