Silver Lake to acquire a 51% stake in Altera from Intel for $4.46bn.

Silver Lake, a private equity firm specialized in technology investing, agreed to acquire a 51% stake in Altera, a manufacturer of programmable logic devices, from Intel, a semiconductor manufacturing corporation, for $4.46bn. Intel will own the remaining 49% of the Altera business, enabling it to participate in Altera’s future success while focusing on its core business.
