Vodafone and AST SpaceMobile to form Satco.

Vodafone, a European and African telecoms operator, and AST SpaceMobile, a US-based satellite communications company, announced the formation of SatCo, a Luxembourg-headquartered joint venture aimed at delivering direct-to-mobile space-based broadband connectivity across Europe. Financial terms were not disclosed. "This is an important initiative for Europe. Our service will ensure that European citizens, businesses, and governments enjoy uninterrupted, ubiquitous mobile broadband connectivity across the whole continent. Europe can take the lead in new direct-to-mobile broadband technology," Margherita Della Valle, Vodafone CEO.
