Banco BTG Pactual, a Brazilian financial company, agreed to acquire HSBC Bank Uruguay, an Uruguayan subsidiary of the global banking group HSBC, from HSBC Holdings, a commercial and institutional bank, for $175m. "BTG Pactual is a strong, regionally focused bank with operating experience in Latin America and a presence in the United States and Europe," HSBC Holdings statement.
