NorgesGruppen to acquire NMD from McKesson Corporation.

NorgesGruppen, a Norwegian grocery wholesaling group managing supermarkets, convenience stores and various retail outlets, agreed to acquire Norsk Medisinaldepot, a pharmaceutical wholesale and retail company operating pharmacy chains, from McKesson Corporation, an American company that distributes pharmaceuticals and provides health information technology, medical supplies, and care management tools. Financial terms are not disclosed. "Vitusapotek has Norway's most satisfied pharmacy customers — and we look forward to further developing the chain together with their highly skilled employees. NMD, with the chains Vitusapotek and Ditt Apotek, is very solid and well-run, and fits perfectly into our strategy going forward," Runar Hollevik, NorgesGruppen CEO.
