Aekyung Chemical, a chemical manufacturer that produces industrial and specialty chemicals, primarily for personal care, household products, and industrial applications, completed the acquisition of Evonik Sumi Asih, a joint venture company in Indonesia engaged in the manufacturing of betaines and other surfactants used in personal care, home care, and cosmetic formulations, from Evonik Industries, manufactures specialty chemicals, and Summi Asih, a manufacturer of natural Fatty Acid and their derivatives from Palm and Coconut oil. Financial terms were not disclosed. “Our site in Bekasi has played a key role in expanding our life sciences businesses across the Asia-Pacific region. As our focus shifts toward sustainable specialties – such as our investments in biosurfactants – this divestment aligns with our strategic direction,” Ute Schick, Evonik Care Solutions Head.
