Enbridge completed the acquisition of a 35.68% stake in Spectra Energy Partners for $7.2bn.

Enbridge, a Canadian multinational energy transportation company based in Calgary, Alberta, completed the acquisition of a 35.68% stake in Spectra Energy Partners, one of the largest MLPs in the United States, for $7.2bn. "Today's transaction improves SEP's long-term value proposition. With an improved cost of capital, we are even better positioned to improve and extend SEP's distribution growth outlook through organic growth projects, potential future drop downs from Enbridge and third party acquisitions," Bill Yardley, President and Chairman of the Board of SEP.
