Synopsis

Edit

Jefferson Health, a multi-state non-profit health system, agreed to merge with Einstein Healthcare Network, a private non-profit healthcare organization based in Philadelphia, in a $599m deal. "This is a critical step forward for the students and patients of both institutions and equally as important for our community as a whole. Our joint planning in recent months has reinforced how much Jefferson and Einstein share the values dedicated to re-imagining the future of health, education and discovery. As we move forward, we will be transparent and committed to the community in making this partnership work," Stephen K. Klasko, Jefferson Health CEO. On December 9, 2020, a federal judge dismissed FTC's bid to temporarily block Jefferson’s acquisition of the Einstein Healthcare Network.
