VTB Bank acquired 85% stake in Bank Vozrozhdenie from the fund Bonum Capital. The deal was closed four months after the VTB board of directors Andrei Kostin announced that the state bank was interested in purchasing "Vozrozhdenie". VTB will send a mandatory offer to minority shareholders of Vozrozhdenie about buying ordinary shares, the State Bank said, they can use it until January 2019. In 2020, VTB plans to merge Vozrozhdenie. Since August, the bank has been headed by former VTB board member Gennady Soldatenkov.
