Fincantieri terminates $72m acquisition of Chantiers de l’Atlantique.

Fincantieri, which designs and builds merchant vessels, passenger ships, offshore, and naval vessels, terminated the $72.4m acquisition of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, which operates as a shipbuilder, blaming the economic downturn and a failure to get European antitrust approval. The decision was made to allow the two companies to focus on getting through the pandemic and new projects.
