China Nonferrous Metal Industry's, a China-based company principally engaged in the mining, selecting and smelting of non-ferrous metals, acquisition of a 75% stake in China Nonferrous Mining, an investment holding company, from China Nonferrous Mining Development for $1bn, did not receive shareholders' approval. The proposal was backed by less than 55% of votes from small- and medium-sized shareholders.
