Sunrise Communications and Salt Mobile, two Swiss telecommunications providers, agreed to form a $3.1bn joint venture, the company will be named Swiss Open Fiber and will provide broadband connectivity services through an FTTH platform. “We are excited to embark on this joint venture which will accelerate ultrafast broadband connectivity and significantly improve fiber penetration in Switzerland relative to other European countries.
