Central Retail, an operator of general merchandise stores, completed the acquisition of a 49% stake Central FamilyMart, a Thailand-based operator of FamilyMart franchise, for $18m. “[FamilyMart] has become a destination with ready-to-eat meals, beverages, fresh coffee and open spaces for everyone to come mix and mingle 24 hours a day," Yol Phokasub, Central Retail CEO.
