VNG, an energy distribution network group, agreed to acquire Gas-Union, a natural gas distributor, for €102m. Gas-Union has been active in the natural gas business for over 55 years and acts as a wholesaler and service provider in the market. With the acquisition, VNG wants to further strengthen its gas business as one of the leading German representatives of the natural gas industry. “We are pleased that we were able to assert ourselves in a tough bidding process. Gas-Union is an established company that has earned a good reputation within the industry and especially in the trade and sales area due to its high customer focus," Ulf Heitmüller, VNG CEO.
