Spark Capital, a venture capital firm in the US, led a $200m Series C round in MessageBird, a cloud communications company. Among investors were also existing backers, Atomico, Accel and Y-Combinator. “We think there’s going to be considerable consolidation going forward, so part of the raise is to put us in a position to do M&A. This could be anywhere from a very small company to a very sizable one,” Robert Vis, MessageBird CEO.
