Mineral Technologies withdraws its $893m offer for Elementis.

Mineral Technologies, a global resource- and technology-based company that develops, produces and markets a broad range of specialty mineral, mineral-based and synthetic mineral products, withdrew its $893m offer for Elementis, one of the UK's largest speciality chemicals and personal care businesses. Elementis rejected three offers from Mineral Technologies. Minerals Technologies believed that its all-cash proposal of $893m was fair, based on information in the public domain, and disagreed with the views expressed by the Elementis Board in connection with its refusal to engage in discussions.
