Synopsis
SK Materials, a Korea-based company engaged in the manufacturing and supplying of special gases, and JNC, a global chemical supplier, are set to form SK JNC, a manufacturer and distributor of OLED materials. SK Materials will own 51% and JNC 49% stake in the joint venture. SK Materials is set to invest $43m. SK Materials and JNC plan to have the joint venture focus on the blue dopant business in the initial stage, then expand out to next-generation OLED materials development. They have secured a lot for JV’s production plant in Dongtan, south of Seoul. The construction is expected to start early next year.
