Ecopetrol completed the acquisition of a 51.4% stake in ISA from Government of Colombia for $3.7bn.

Ecopetrol, an oil and gas company that operates in the exploration and production sectors, completed the acquisition of a 51.4% stake in Interconexion Electrica, a company that transmits high voltage electricity within the national network in Colombia, from Government of Colombia, for $3.7bn. The closing of this acquisition represents a milestone in the development of the Ecopetrol Group's energy transition strategy, which seeks to maximize the life and value of its hydrocarbon portfolio, while progressing in decarbonization and diversification towards low-emission businesses.
