News Corp, a media and information services company, completed the acquisition of the books and media segment of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, a publisher of textbooks, instructional technology materials, assessments, reference works, and fiction and non-fiction for both young readers and adults, for $349m. “With the addition of the compelling Books & Media backlist and frontlist, as well as its expertise and creativity in digital development, HarperCollins will be even better positioned to serve authors and audiences around the world,” Robert Thomson, News Corp Chief Executive.
