General Atlantic-backed Pague Menos to acquire Extrafarma from Ultrapar for $133m.

General Atlantic-backed Pague Menos, an operator of pharmacy chain in Brazil, agreed to acquire Extrafarma, an operator of a chain of pharmacy stores, from Ultrapar, a specialized distribution and retail, specialty chemical production company, for $133m. “The acquisition of Extrafarma potentiates a new expansion phase of Pay Less. We accelerate or grow and strengthen our presence in the North and Northeast, as we do not serve the Brazilian expanded middle class.
