Companhia Siderurgica Nacional, a fully integrated steel producer, agreed to acquire Elizabeth Cimentos, a company providing cement, from Farallon Capital Management, an investment management firm, for £158m. The deal will give it a presence in the Northeast, add modern equipment to its assets and ‘substantial’ reserves of limestone, The purchase will be subject to regulatory approval.
