BBVA, a digital bank, completed the acquisition of a 36.12% stake in Turkish Garanti, a financial services company, for $1.43bn. “This transaction represents a great opportunity to invest in our franchise in Turkey and create value for our shareholders. Additionally, the price is very attractive for Garanti BBVA minority shareholders,” Carlos Torres Vila, BBVA Chairman.
