Synopsis
Minerva, a South America in beef exporter, and Amyris to sign a joint venture. Financial terms were not disclosed. Forming molecules through fermentation is one of the most advanced and efficient alternatives in the pursuit of a food production model with less impact on the carbon chain, thus contributing to the sustainability of our planet. The joint venture formed with Amyris will engage in the development of new molecules that will contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions arising from the animal protein production chain, such as more sustainable packaging and fermentation-derived natural preservatives, thereby increasing the logistical efficiency of the global beef chain. The parties also expect to work on the development of a protein production matrix through the fermentation process, as a sustainable alternative to animal protein.
