Synopsis

Cargill, a privately held American global food corporation, and Golden Growers Cooperative, a wet corn milling company, completed the acquisition of the remaining 51% stake in ProGold, which owns a corn wet-milling plant near Wahpeton, North Dakota, from American Crystal Sugar Company, an agricultural cooperative specializing in the production of sugar and related agri-products. Financial terms were not disclosed. "We believe this agreement with Cargill offers a bright future for our members. Our agreement signals a long-term commitment to the Wahpeton community, employees of the facility, and corn producers. For the past 28 years, American Crystal Sugar Company has been our trusted partner. We are so thankful for those years and look forward to a new chapter for ProGold and Golden Growers," Mark Harless, Golden Growers Chairman.
