Anglo American, a British multinational mining company, led a Series C funding round in Sanergy, an organic waste upcycling business. Financial terms were not disclosed. Sanergy manufactures valuable agricultural and energy products such as insect-based protein used for animal feed, biomass fuel, and organic fertilizer for horticulture. Its circular economy approach has been recognized as a pioneering model that benefits emerging economies: increased food production, increased local production of agricultural inputs, and smart ways to manage organic waste.
