Arcelik to acquire the EMEA business of Whirlpool.

Arcelik, a Turkish multinational household appliances manufacturer, agreed to acquire the EMEA business of Whirlpool, an American multinational manufacturer and marketer of home appliances. Financial terms were not disclosed. "Today's announcement marks yet another major and important milestone in our ongoing portfolio transformation. This allows us to participate in significant value creation from the repositioning of the business and cost synergies through our minority interest," Marc Bitzer, Whirlpool Chairman and CEO.
