Synopsis
Allkem, a chemicals company, completed the merger with Livent, a global lithium chemicals producer, in a $4.6bn deal. The combined company will be valued at $10.6bn, with Livent owning a 44% and Allkem owning 56%. "As one of the leading global producers of lithium chemicals, Arcadium Lithium has the resources, scale and expertise to meet the growing needs of our rapidly changing industry. We are a leader in every major lithium extraction process – from hard rock mining to conventional pond and DLE-based brine processing – and vertically integrated, from resource to chemical manufacturing, in strategic locations around the world. This will open doors to new opportunities and strengthen our ability to deliver value to our customers, investors, employees and communities," Paul Graves, Livent President and Chief Executive Officer.
