JSW Group, ArcelorMittal, and Novolipetsk to acquire two steel plants in Liege from Liberty Steel.

Synopsis

JSW Group, ArcelorMittal, and Novolipetsk, an Indian, Luxembourg-based, and Russian steel companies, agreed to acquire two steel plants in Liege from Liberty Steel, a fully integrated steel and mining business. Financial terms were not disclosed. Liberty Liege Flemalle has two hot-dip galvanizing lines for coils, and Liberty Liege Tilleur has lines for the production of packaging steel. The two enterprises are capable of producing up to 1m tons of hot-dip galvanizing rolls per year and 200k tons of packaging steel products. Liberty Steel acquired these assets from ArcelorMittal in 2019.
