Insight Partners, a global venture capital and private equity firm that invests in high-growth technology, software, and Internet businesses, led a $17m Series A round in Whop, a merchant platform for people who are building new products in a variety of verticals including education, ecommerce, gaming, trading, sports picks and more, and are selling guerrilla style on social media and on forums throughout the internet, with participation from Zinal Growth, Perter Thiel, Justin Mateen, Justin Kan, The Chainsmokers, Cory Levy, Vivek Ranadive, David Blitzer, Josh Richards, Animal Capital, James Harden, Kevin O'Leary and Josh Browder. The company intends to use the funds to enhance its product catalog and extend the business toolbox, making investments in AI, payments, and general marketplace infrastructure.
