Berwind Corporation-backed Sierra Instruments completed the acquisition of VorTek Instruments from Azbil Corporation.

Berwind Corporation-backed Sierra Instruments, a manufacturer of high performance mass flow meters and mass flow controllers, completed the acquisition of VorTek Instruments, a precision multivariable flowmeters manufacturer, from Azbil Corporation, a holding company active in building, advanced and life automation segments. Financial terms were not disclosed. After the acquisition, company will further concentrate its management resources on more progressive automation areas, such as sophisticated microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors and autonomous plant applications, which have strengths leveraging the group’s accumulated technologies and know-how, and thus, will strengthen its competitiveness in Japan and overseas to increase enterprise value.
