Monumental to acquire Kongregate from Modern Times Group.

Monumental, an independent game development studio and publisher based in Austin, Texas, agreed to acquire Kongregate, an American web gaming portal and video game publisher, from Modern Times Group, an international mobile gaming group that owns and operates gaming studios with popular global IPs across a wide range of casual and mid-core genres. Financial terms were nto disclosed. “We are happy to have found the right home for the next chapter in Kongregate’s journey. Monumental has a strong track record of managing and growing games and we are convinced that combining the two portfolios is the right step forward.
