NEC to acquire the remaining 48.75% stake in NEC Networks for $1.5bn.

NEC, an information technology and electronics corporation, agreed to acquire the remaining 48.75% stake in NEC Networks, a computer integrated systems design company, for $1.5bn. Once the world’s biggest maker of semiconductors, NEC has reinvented itself by focusing on its IT services and infrastructure operations, including a supercomputer for artificial intelligence-related research.
