Equinix to acquire the Irish-based datacentre business of BT Group for $61.5m.

Equinix, a digital infrastructure company, agreed to acquire the Irish-based datacentre business of BT Group, a provider of fixed and mobile telecommunications and related secure digital products and services, for $61.5m. “This announcement with Equinix marks an exciting new chapter for our datacentre business in Ireland. The deal builds on our existing successful partnership with Equinix and ensures that customers will benefit from top-tier datacentre services nationally and globally, allowing BT to specialise in our core strengths in cloud, networking, and security,” Shay Walsh, BT Ireland Managing Director.
