Synopsis
Lactalis, a dairy group, agreed to acquire the consumer and associated businesses from Fonterra, an exporter of dairy products, for NZD4.22bn. “As the world’s largest dairy company, Lactalis has the scale required to take these brands and businesses to the next level. Fonterra farmers will continue to benefit from their success, with Lactalis to become one of our most significant Ingredients customers,” Miles Hurrell, Fonterra CEO. 8/26/2025 - As previously announced, Lactalis will pay Fonterra $375 million for the Bega licences in addition to the $3.845 billion base enterprise value, bringing the total proceeds for the sale of the Consumer and associated businesses to $4.22 billion.
