Credit Agricole, a bank holding company, completed the acquisition of a 9.9% stake in Crelan, a Belgian bank. Financial terms were not disclosed. The strategic partnership between the Crelan and Crédit Agricole groups marks a major step forward in the pooling of their respective strengths with a view to offering enhanced banking services in Belgium. By combining Crelan's local roots with the Crédit Agricole Group's expertise in asset management, private banking and leasing, the two cooperative groups will be primed to roll out quality services for the benefit of customers and cooperative shareholders.
