Knighthead Capital Management completed the acquisition of the remaining 51% majority stake in Birmingham City from ZO Future Group.

Knighthead Capital Management, a New York-based investment advisory firm, through its affiliate Shelby Companies, completed the acquisition of the remaining 51% majority stake in Birmingham City, a sports club, from ZO Future Group, a professional sports operations and investment company. Shelby Companies will now hold 96.64% of Birmingham City, which holds 100% ownership of Birmingham City Football Club and Birmingham City Women Football Club. Financial terms were not disclosed. “This transaction is another important milestone for Knighthead and Birmingham City Football Club. Transformation has taken place across every aspect of the Club’s operations since our initial investment and it’s just the beginning. Later this month we will unveil our new stadium design which will be at the heart of East Birmingham’s Sports Quarter. The ambition for our Club is to be a beacon of excellence for Birmingham on the global stage.
