Synopsis
Teck Resources, a diversified natural resources company, called off its demerger into Teck Metals, a premier, growth-oriented producer of energy transition metals, and Elk Valley Resources, a pure-play, high-margin steelmaking coal producer, in an $11.5bn deal. The demerger was replaced with a $9bn acquisition of Elk Valley Resources by Glencore, Nippon Steel and POSCO.
